Melissa Klayton has more than a decade of teaching behind her in both Massachusetts and Florida. For the past five years, Melissa has specialized in literacy/reading intervention and has acquired additional professional development in teaching strategies for Music and Movement, Reading, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Exceptional Student/Special
Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and History from Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. She also earned a Massachusetts Professional Teacher’s Certificate in Grades K-6, along with a certification in Early Childhood Education from the Massachusetts Office for Children (Infant through Pre-K). Later, Melissa went on to earn her Professional Teacher’s Certification in Elementary Education from the state of Florida in 2015.
For the past 16 years, Melissa has resided in Clearwater Beach, after relocating from a suburb of Boston. When she’s not studying or working, she loves being outdoors at the parks and beaches, singing, doing yoga, traveling, and having fun with her husband of 20 years, 10-year old son, and cat, PB.
